Back in Okinawa
by phillip herronI always start one of my old stories with ,”Back in Okinawa” and then I start talking to my current friends but they don’t understand because they have never been …scuba diving at night when your buddy spears a parrot fish……they have never been on a “typhoon evac ” to the P.I………never spent 12 hours in a guard shack taking care of the S.R.71. They have never been drunk at “THE CROW’S NEST” listening to Dwight Yokem while a drunk Navy guy calls you a sissy fly boy just because you are in the Air Force..(I had to explain to him that all A.F. people don’t fly jets.) I was there in 86- 88 . Would love to hear from any Security Specialist …especially SSGT. Rob Baker. sincerly SRA Herron

Phillip,,where are u from?? My Mothers maiden name was Herron, and spelling is the same as yours,, most Herrons,,i have met,,used just one r,, heron.. My Mother was from Southern , Illinois, and her Father, Cuthbert Herron was from that area also..My Cousin Mike Herron is Chief of Police in Harrisburg , Ill,,his father was also named Phillip Herron, ,,good name..
