Teahouse and elementary schools
by sandfranWe were in Futema Housing 1962 - 1966 and my daughter attended a school there that had a Tori - can’t remember the name of the school. Also how can I get a picture of the original Teahouse of the August Moon. It was off limits to troops at that time. My ex-hubby was with the Signal Corp/Army there. We also lived in Awase village. My ex was Sgt Louis Cass and I am Sandy. Love to hear from anyone that was there then. Thanks,

Sandy, check out www.microburmbi.net/TEAHOUSEPG.html. When I was assigned to 62d MP Company, Cp Sukiran, as a traffic accident investigator, we used to visit down there (Naha) all the time. Our squad used to get in more trouble in Naminoue bars!

I haven’t seen it in a while but I have a slide of the Teahouse taken in 1958. If it’s Kodachrome it will probably copy out OK, if Ektachrome, it may no longer exist. le me know if you would like to pursue this.
