The Crow’s Nest 1989-1991
by bethsalmonI was stationed at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa from March 1989 to March 1991. My favorite pastime during my two years there was dancing to live country music at the crow’s nest. I’m putting this out there to see if I can get in touch with some of my old running buddies. I had a few Air Force friends, but most of my friends were Marines stationed there. I’d sure like to hear from anyone out there. Beth

I have made several referances to the CROW’S NEST since I found this site and you are the only other one that has mentioned it. Were you Navy or Marine ? I was an Air Force man . If you are looking for old buddies …check all the “previous entries ” on this site . Makes for good reading. Maybe we can talk later .

I was a Security Specialist. 1986-1988. I was overwhelmed by the thought of being so far away from home when I first arrived at Kadena, but as time passed I became more comfortable. I actually took no leave while I was there. We had it made. but like all things in life ,”you don’t know what you have ’til it’s gone ”
I’ve since opened my own Bar and restaurant and every time I hear a Dwight Yokam song ..I think of THE CROW’S NEST. I could go on and on . I am computer illiterate but if you have any pics of Okinawa I would love to see them. That island was one of the most beautifull places I have ever been. I don’t have any of my old pics availible on line yet … but I’m learning.
