I was a Security Specialist. 1986-1988. I was overwhelmed by the thought of being so far away from home when I first arrived at Kadena, but as time passed I became more comfortable. I actually took no leave while I was there. We had it made. but like all things in life ,"you don't know what you have 'til it's gone "
I've since opened my own Bar and restaurant and every time I hear a Dwight Yokam song ..I think of THE CROW'S NEST. I could go on and on . I am computer illiterate but if you have any pics of Okinawa I would love to see them. That island was one of the most beautifull places I have ever been. I don't have any of my old pics availible on line yet ... but I'm learning.
          Later ,
                  Phil

I have made several referances to the CROW'S NEST since I found this site and you are the only other one that has mentioned it. Were you Navy or Marine ? I was an Air Force man . If you are looking for old buddies ...check all the "previous entries " on this site . Makes for good reading. Maybe we can talk later .
