I always start one of my old stories with ,”Back in Okinawa” and then I start talking to my current friends but they don’t understand because they have never been …scuba diving at night when your buddy spears a parrot fish……they have never been on a “typhoon evac ” to the P.I………never spent 12 hours in a guard shack taking care of the S.R.71.  They have never been drunk at “THE CROW’S NEST” listening to Dwight Yokem while a drunk Navy guy calls you a sissy fly boy just because you are in the Air Force..(I had to explain to him that all A.F. people don’t fly jets.) I was there in 86- 88 . Would love to hear from any Security Specialist  …especially SSGT. Rob Baker.  sincerly SRA Herron

Okinawa is the best place on Earth.  I spend 5 years on the island.  I return every 3 to 4 years for vacation.  My number one goal in life is to retire @ 65 years old and 65 and one day I will be on sunset beach throwing down some Orion beer (the beer of beers).  It is not the fun stuff I like it is the life culture and ethic that makes Okinawa so important to me.

Glad this site is back. Stationed at Kadena in 71+72. Crewed a KC-135Q, 59-1520. Spent many a time on Gate 2 Street in The Bell Bar, best c+w music on the island. Still visit with the lifelong friends I made there, Steve Burns, Skip Larrison and Marvin Bohrer. Would do it again in a heartbeat if I were physically able. So many fond memories. If there is anyone out there who remembers myself or friends drop a line. Anyone at all for that matter. God bless.

I just returned from a long awaited visit to Okinawa.  I was there from 1962-67 and from 68-72.  I would love to connect with anyone from that time - I went to Kubasaki until the middle of my junior year.  Things have changed dramatically but the beauty of the island remains.

Hope to hear from some other military brats!

I was on okinawa from june 62 to june 63 at camp sukiran?

Was with the 3rd fsr in household transportation and grave registration. would like to make contact with anyone that was there at that time.  Especially  D.G Ball from Minnesota  and 

T.T. Fralick. from alabama we were all PFC’S at the time know  it’s been long time but maybe there still out there. We went through boot camp together.  Plt. 259 at MCRD San Diego.

Would be intested to know of anyone else in that plt. or that time.

i am lucita kushihama my father is cesar padilla kushihama,my grand parents is kame kushiha,my grand grand parents is mr and mrs taru kushihama of naha okinawa japan,ive ben searching to my grand parents birth certificate if where would i get it.i am now in the philippines because my father is a half japanese his father is a japanese.please help me where i can get the family registration of my grand father.my grand father is a japanese souldier  during world war2.any body help please….thank you and more power!

My time on Okinawa was from 86-89. I met my wife Ayako at Xenon and many friends I now call fam! I apologize for losing contact with you guys, but if your reading this PLEASE get at us! We miss you guys! Jackster, Ray”Saburo”, Larry, Kevin, Arnulfo, Yang, Smurf, and all other you know who you are! We have been back to Oki a few times and have been overwhelmed by the changes. If anyone has picks of the monorail can you send them to me please.
