I was on Okinawa between 1965 and 1967 and served as Scoutmaster with Troop 1, BSA. Also served in the US Army at STRATCOM. I really enjoyed my time on Okinawa and camping out at White Beach Scout Camp. I would love to link up with any scouts or leaders that were in the troop or on the island at that time. Planning on making a trip back there soon. Happy New Year to all.

Was there two times … ‘61 to ‘64 and again from ‘68 to ‘69 when I was supposed to graduate from Kubasaki High. Father was in USAF and he got reasigned to Langley AFB in Virginia. Would love to hear from anyone that might remember me. During ‘61 to ‘64 I attended Naha Elementary School and I lived in the Naha area. Loved every minute of it. Would also love to hear from Susan McKinley or George Ann Long.

Hello! I am planning on going to Okinawa in October to take a Japanese language course in Naha. I would like to work while I’m there to limit my amount of debt. If anyone can give me any info about jobs around the Naha/Urasoe area it would be greatly appreciated. Any type of job is fine. The student visa would limit me to 28 hours of work per week. My Japanese is…well, I’m learning. I have tried looking into working on one of the US Marine Bases, but I am Canadian, so I’m not sure if I am allowed to. Please help!

Greetings from COLD Las Vegas, Nevada!  I leave next Friday for Okinawa for a meeting.  I have no idea what I am doing and could REALLY use some help.  I would be happy to compensate in beer    I am staying at the Marriott Resort & Spa, which looks to be in the middle of no where.  If anyone here, or if you know of anyone, who would be interested in showing me around and drinking some beers, I would be happy to buy and pay for gas.    I would sincerely appreciate some info on what to do on the island and how to get around.
