Born on Izena Island in 1953, Bokunen Naka moved to the main island of Okinawa at the age of 16. His graphic artistry expresses the interweave of the sights, sounds touch and bouquets of the island, in illustrations, silk screens, bas relief, and prints. His recent techniques of background stained wood printing allows heightened vibracy of color. Bokunen exhibits both throughout Japan and abroad.
